Today we raise awareness for this endangered species, whose numbers in the wild are in decline due to habitat loss, poaching and the illegal wildlife trade. Sadly, their population has declined 50% in the last 20 years.
Did you know that Red Pandas are a flagship species? By protecting the Red Panda, we can help protect other threatened species in this region.
At Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, our Red Pandas Momo and Pasang are ambassadors for their species. They help teach our guests about the importance of protecting this unique species.
