Over the last few weeks I started learning Docker container and how I can take advantage of the technology to apply it on my home lab/network.
So I tried playing around with one of the best opensource network wide ad-blocker to block ads! Pihole!
Note: for Youtube, please go for PREMIUM subscription!
Installer:
run powershell as admin
Enable WSL
dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /all /norestart
Enable VirtualMachinePlatform
dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart
Install WSL v2

docker run -d --name pihole -e ServerIP="###.###.#.##" -e WEBPASSWORD=Monday01 -e DNS1=127.0.0.1 -e DNS2=8.8.8.8 -e DNS3=8.8.4.4 -p 80:80 -p 53:53/tcp -p 53:53/udp -p 443:443 --restart=unless-stopped pihole/pihole:latest
ServerIP: your IP address
WEBPASSWORD: Webinterace password
Check Pi-hole if up and running - 127.0.0.1:80 or
