On , we celebrate young researchers driving in Ghana through the Resilience Against Climate Change – Social Transformation Research and Policy Advocacy (REACH-STR) project led by IWMI, supported by the European Union in Ghana.
Over six years (2019–2025), REACH-STR:
Developed decision-support tools such as the gender and climate vulnerability hotspot maps.
Supported national climate policy processes, including pre- and post-COP dialogues.
Trained over 50 district development officers in social transformation analysis.
Awarded scholarships to 18 master’s and PhD students building the capacity of young social scientists to tackle climate challenges through policy insights, research, and community engagement.
This video captures the project’s closing ceremony, with testimonials from beneficiaries and reflections from development partners on integrating social transformation into climate action in Ghana.
