Your mindset is the only thing that can push you far in life. As a foodstuffs vendor, i sat down one morning and was looking at my Master’s degree certificate that I acquired since 2016. I asked myself, so after all the money I spent to do my master’s as a spinster, I will keep this certificate. I told myself that no limitations will stop me. I enrolled into the first freelancing class and never understood some things. I paid for a different class and it started becoming a bit clear. YouTube and ChatGPT were my best friends. I dragged my neighbor to the first and second classes so that I will not loose focus on the way. As at 30th October 2023, I landed 3 jobs the same day and I was just so exhausted and overwhelmed. The joy in me made me slept off by 6pm that day. I was thinking where do I start from. ThankGod for ChatGPT, YouTube and those clients were ready to teach me on the job. I started it afraid. On 16th November, 2023, less than 1 month, I made my $1k. It started making sense to me. Every night, I will go to the groups where I belong and be tagging all my group members to come let’s hit the jungle. Some nights, they will come and we won’t see any job we can do. From that stage, jobs were dropping every week, months and at some point, I was doing a Virtual Assistant job for a company, the same company offered me a customer support role for 2 of their companies again, plus the very first job I started with. So i was doing 4 jobs at that time. I buy laptops almost every month, knowing that these gadgets will give me more jobs and more money. Some days, I feel so exhausted, but I remembered my goal was to hit atleast $10k in 1 year and I surpassed it. Today, I have done 20 jobs on upwork and the whole of this year, I chose teaching over working. Come 2026, I will start working again on upwork. Earning in dollars and spending in naira is the most beautiful thing that will happen to you.
