And booking trips with 3 or 4 (or more!) kids can be very tricky and expensive.
I’m a mom of 4, and I grew up in a family of 8 (yes, I have 5 sisters), so I know a thing or 2 about traveling with a big family.
Beyond the cost of all of those plane tickets, booking hotel rooms is always the biggest hurdle.
I always share hotels I find that can fit our family of 6 in a standard room, hotels that guarantee connecting rooms, or hotels with great family suites.
Renting a car is another thing people don’t talk about! Once you add that 4th child, you can no longer fit in a standard sedan, and suddenly you’re paying double for a car rental!
Here’s the thing - I think having a big family is the biggest blessing, so instead of discouraging people (traveling with a big family is SO EXPENSIVE), I want to show you exactly how we make it work.
I am a travel content creator, so of course travel is part of my job, but we’re also still on a budget. I hope to someday be as unrelatable as some of the mega influencers with seemingly no budget in sight, but until that time, I’m happy to share how we balance budget with worthwhile splurges, even as a big family in this economy.
