Jazz Not Jazz Workshops is a program of workshops designed by Marina Pravkina to enhance creativity in improvisation through the practice of dance techniques rooted in urban/club dance backgrounds & mixed with the performative/contemporary approach in movement exploration. Over the course of two days, invited international teachers will share diverse movement techniques, unlocking new ideas and concepts to catalyze improvisational development.
Each day will consist of three hours of artistic exploration on improvisation led by the teachers. Drawing inspiration from the rhythmic footworks of UK jazz dance with Marina Pravkina (ES) , foundational movements and flow in floorwork with Adrian Vega (ES), and arm technique of whacking with Carla Parcianello (IT/BE), participants will practice to jazz-related soundscapes.
