This is Day 2 of my series: 10 Fundraising Lessons in 10 Days.
Angel investors are high-net-worth individuals who support your startup financially, often before VCs come in. They invest their own money. Angels may also invest for non-financial reasons, for example, they like your personality, believe in your future success, want to support your journey, or connect with your mission for personal reasons.
You can meet angel investors at startup networking events in the Bay Area. Try to be a speaker at these events, this usually works better. If you can speak at an exclusive event organized by a VC or investor group, that’s even better.
Another way is to meet founders in your industry who already have angel investors backing them and convince them to make introductions. You can meet founders on LinkedIn, ask for advice, and hop on a call, or you can meet them at networking events in the Bay Area.
Finally, you can do cold outreach to angel investors via LinkedIn and email. You can generate leads through Sales Navigator by filtering for people who list “angel investor” as their job
