1) Mating
2) Competition over resources such as food, toys and even humans.
In this video, you see a white dog who decides to compete for the black dogs food by trying to take it.
The black dog defends his resource, the food, and it leads to a pretty big fight.
Not only that, the fight didn't end the proper way with both dogs going back to a calm follower state of mind before going back to eating.
